Welcome to Innisfail State High School’s website. Our business is the business of learning and we offer a ‘Distinctive Education and Training in the Wet Tropics’.
Innisfail State High School was established in 1955. The school has a long tradition of academic excellence and sporting achievement and boasts of many highly successful past students.
Our school motto ‘Honore et labore’, Honour and Hard Work, underscores our value that anything can be achieved in our school and everything is. Our focus is on the individual student and we work hard at developing positive relationships between students, Parents and the community as we believe ‘It takes a whole village to raise a child’.
We recognize that our students’ pathways after school are varied, so provide a quality holistic and diverse curriculum program offering the traditional academic subjects catering for our Tertiary bound students as well as providing nationally accredited vocational subjects which will equip our students for the workforce. We also provide work experience opportunities and have a large number of students from years 10 to 12 involved in the school based apprenticeship and traineeship program. Innisfail State High School can meet your child’s learning needs.
Through Innisfail's numerous excellent sporting, recreational, cultural and international programs, students are supported in order to further consolidate skills, explore new areas and discover untapped talents. From Years 8 – 12 students have many opportunities to engage in academic, civic, sporting, creative and personal endeavours, while being nutured by the caring relationships provided by teachers and support staff. We value excellence and expect our students to achieve their personal best in all endeavours and take an active role within the school.
Our outstanding success, at Innisfail State High School, is due largely to a caring and committed staff, a supportive community, energy for change and a broad curriculum, which is focused on a diversity of student needs in an increasingly complex society. Our purpose, in this environment of increasing change, is to meet the learning needs of all students and provide each young person with the opportunity to achieve success in their desired future outcomes.

I am pleased to share our school with you and trust that you find our web page useful and informative.
